Title: Problem With Flashing Oz 3.5.2
Post by: rafm on April 11, 2005, 04:32:37 am
I follow the instruction from [link (http://openzaurus.sourceforge.net/web/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=44)] to flash OZ 3.5.2 on my SL-5500. After full reset + C + D both power and mail lights light up and then go off repeatedly and apparently forever (I left the Zaurus like this for several hours).

Does the flickering of both lights indicate an error during flashing or it means that the flashing proceeds?

I tried reformating a CF card, downloaded the image files several times and double checked the file names.

When the flickering of both lights did not stop, I pressed full reset. But Zaurus does not start after this.

Any suggestion what can be wrong?

Hi rafm

You have a resume in: Resume (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=11667)

When you flash your Zaurus, two lights must power on. If lights doesn't do this, something is wrong.

have you format your CF card as VFAT ?
have you check the MD5 sum of your downloaded files?

The last step is very important. If file are corrupts, you will have problems.

Thanks.

I think both MD5 and FAT are OK. I will try using different CF card for flashing and let you know the result.

I used another CF card and the flashing went fine

I didn't work with my sagatek 32x 128MB CF card (don't buy it for Zaurus).

Thanks.
