With OZ 3.5.3 (opie) on collie (SL5500) I am seeing a problem similar to this one with Wellenreiter:
wellenreiter II - opie 1.1.4 - oz 3.3.6-pre1 (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=4462&hl=we+v16)
Only it is complaining about WE V16 (for the interface driver) and WE V17 (for Wellenreiter II). I am using the 32-32 zImage and my wireless card is an AmbiCom WL100C-CF (hostap), if that is of any help.
* Wellenreiter from the OpenZaurus 3.5.3 feed: opie-wellenreiter_1.2.0-r0_arm.ipk
* Wellenreiter version number when running: V1.0.3 (unofficial)
Wellenreiter was working rather nicely with 3.5.2; same WiFi, same SL5500. Is this the same problem as the linked post or the same symptom/different problem?

I am also getting this error on my sl-6000.

Good thing I saw this topic.
I have the same card as you, and was thinking of reflashing to 3.5.3. I think I'll have to wait until there is a fix for this problem first.

Same problem on SL-5600 (Poodle)

I have the same problem here with OZ 3.5.3.
Network card Symbol (Spectrum24).
It was working perfectly in OZ 3.5.2.

Same error on SL-5600 (Poodle) Linksys WCF12

no news??

Ok. Mickeyl words. It is a bug and and he must put an upgraded version of it in the feed.
I posted detailed comments about this bug in email foums oe@ and openzaurus-users@. In short: It's a bug and you can't do anything about it until I find time and motivation to put an upgraded version into the upgrades feed.

Was this ever fixed or updated in the feed?

Same issue on SL-5500. I've been wanting to check this
program out in more detail, I've briefly used it with other ROMs.
Hoping a fix comes forth also...

Just did a fresh install of collie and full upgrade, prob still exists for me and my 5500.
Just some insight, i believe this is a problem with the version of wireless-extentions (or WE). The commands that the GUI are issuing are probably working just fine. however, if i remember correctly, it must not be verifying the error code and quiting on what is essentially a warning message.
