All-
having issues setting up wifi on my c3000. I have 2 different cards. Below is the output from cardctl ident.
Qtopia 1.5.4 (build date 10/28/2004)
Kernel 2.4.20
ROM 1.01 JP
AmbiCom WL1100C-CF
Socket 0:
product info: "AmbiCom", "WL1100C 802.11b CF-Card", "2.2"
manfid: 0xd601, 0x0002
function: 6 (network)
Socket 1:
product info: "HITACHI", "microdrive"
manfid: 0x0319, 0x0000
function: 4 (fixed disk)
Netgear WCF54G (I know this isnt listed as supported but I am trying to get a driver working since I use netgear cards in my laptops w/gentoo. I figure I might give it a shot at compiling a working driver)
Socket 0:
product info: "Linksys", "WCF54G_Wireless-G_CompactFlash_Card", "", ""
manfid: 0x0156, 0x0004
function: 6 (network)
Socket 1:
product info: "HITACHI", "microdrive"
manfid: 0x0319, 0x0000
function: 4 (fixed disk)
output from my /etc/pcmcia/wirelss-ng
(due to size I just put it up on my server for viewing)
wlan-ng.conf (http://www.succinctblack.com/images/wlan-ng)
wlan-ng.opts (http://www.succinctblack.com/images/wlanopts)
dmesg (http://www.succinctblack.com/images/dmesg)
*that dmesg was booting with the ambicom I can give you one with the netgear if you want.
Anyway, I cant get anything working rigth with these. Any suggestions? Good with linux so feel free to be brief and flame me if im missing something simple. Long hours at work havent let me full explore this yet. Thanks in advance!
edit* ifconfig doesnt show anything, there is no cardctl.pid, and if I restart pcmcia I restart the device due to the hdd =)

if i rember corectly the linksys WCF54G card uses the atheros wavelan chipset which dose not have driver support (not that i could find) on thier website is a driver for a diffrent card, however someone apparently got it to work (do a search) however the fourm where the infomation is is down at the moment
if you do get it working however PM me as thats the card i wanted to get but was unsure as to wiether it would work

ps to reset only one device try cardctl reset 0 to specify which socket you want to reset instead of all of them (i am assuming you meant you cant reset the device because of the hdd)

Yea it was just the normal pcmcia reset also resets the hdd. Thanks for the cardctl reset command. I looked it up shortly after posting here, and forgot to edit my original post.
I have been talking with the Dynamism folks about my other card. Right now they are a bit baffled why its not working. Ill keep you posted as it goes. I have yet to start on a driver or work around for the linksys, but ill be sure to PM you when/if I get something going. Work is being a monster at the moment, and trying to finish it up =)
ps to reset only one device try cardctl reset 0 to specify which socket you want to reset instead of all of them (i am assuming you meant you cant reset the device because of the hdd)
