Post by: Howard Roark on April 22, 2005, 11:05:32 am
I am looking for a 'sled' ie battery pack/extra cf slot adapter for the Sl-6000L.

me too, but I want one in the UK, which is proving _very_ difficult. Not that I can even find anyone that will sell one at all. Please, if anyone knows a source for these, speak up.

Thanks
Simon

Guys,

I got one from amazon last summer. Try to have someone in the US act as a proxy.

Honnestly I recommand it. It may be bulky and heavy but now I never wonder whether I have enough power. That and the ruggerised appearance it gives to the Zaurus are cool, and now it finally holds in my labcoat pocket :-)

I think amazon is out.

I checked a couple weeks ago and they could be supposedly be back ordered from sharp usa. and sometimes turn up in auctions and odd places. The prices tend to be outrageous (like nearly $200 us) though

I still think a better one could be made-- the problem is finding someone with the skill to make it look nice. Wouldn't you prefer a 20 gig or bigger hd to be on there? and a bigger battery? etc....

I assume you know about the psp powerbrick being z compatible?

I know - I just want a all-in-one approach. You won't easily make a nice looking sled. $200 is expensive but IMHO it's worth it.

$199.00 US is the list price. Since they are no longer in production, I suspect the price will only go up from there.

Amazon is indeed out of stock. Froogle turns up a bunch of hits - on Amazon affiliates. 8(

Mickey, is that to help with developing OZ support? What is the OZ support like?

Does anyone know anything about the pinouts for the connector, and possibly where to buy a corresponding one?

Meh... it was expensive enough before.

Hmmm... I had that when I was trying to get hold of a 6000. _VERY_ annoying.

Sharp hasn't discontinued this product.  I spoke with a rep and he said it was supposed to arrive on 4/12/05, but that the shipment didn't make it.  No ETA yet.

No go. I've asked them weeks ago, they're sold out.
