I have a SanDisk Connect Wifi card which has traditionally operated well. However, I haven\'t used it in a while (little reason to), and now when I plug the card in, it is recognized as:
New Card: Anonymous Memory
The card\'s light is solid, and the card heats up quickly. In addition, if I try to identify the card, I get the following:
# cardctl ident
Socket 0:
no product info available
Socket 1:
no product info available
#
The card worked plug & play with the Sharp rom 2.38, Sharp rom 3.10, and now seems to not be working with the latest tkcROM (although it may have worked with this rom previously IIRC).
I really don\'t know how to troubleshoot the Wifi card well, as it\'s always just worked, and I haven\'t found any past threads regarding this particular type of issue. Can anyone suggest some helpful threads or what might be happening/how I can get the card to be recognizeable again? Thanks in advance-

As a follow-up to this, when thinking back to when trouble may have started, there is a time when I did a \'cardctl reset\' and my zaurus GUI started to flicker and seemed to react strangely. I let it go on for a few secs, then it may be that after that point, the card was recognized as \'Anonymous Memory\'. I don\'t really remember, and didn\'t think much of it since I only did a cardctl reset. Is it possible that that action messed the card up?
Any help is greatly appreciated-

As a follow up, my card was indeed fried. The above are all symptoms, but I was in denial I would *strongly* recommend NOT doing a $ cardctl reset, unless you know that it won\'t fry your card, as I\'m pretty sure that event did the deal for my poor sandisk card...

Hi n8a,
Well it seems you\'re not alone. I had the same problem with 2 SanDisk CFs in my C760 - without \"cardctl reset\" (at least the second one) - I finally sent the zaurus in and got a new one as we figured that this could not be right.
Strange.
Perhaps someone can shed some light on this?

Well, if it\'s truly the Zaurus that\'s at fault, I may be in trouble as I replaced the card with another SanDisk Connect...
I guess I\'ll use it sparingly and hope for the best :?

Hello,
the same happened to me, it\'s my second card and after 20 Minutes (more or less) the card stops working. First it only gets a slow collection and then it freezes the whole zaurus until I eject the card. The card is warm but that could be normal.
I had a netgear ma701 and now I have a smc 2642w.
@N8a: What happened with your zaurus, is it working now?
Regards,
Fabian

Yes - As I indicated in January, I bought another SanDisk Wifi card since I got a great deal on it. I\'ve had no problems of the sort since. Therefore, it must have been the card.
Since you all are having the same issue, I would suggest steering clear of this card! I\'ll be receiving a c760 very soon, but my 5500 works great after all the probs I had with that card back then.
