Title: How To Boot Into Single User Mode?
Post by: dansawyer on May 28, 2005, 04:06:36 pm
Opps! I tried to install vncviewer and it corrupted the boot process. I believe the offending script is in /etc/rc2.d.

How can the Z be booted into something other then rc2?

I would really like not to reflash.

Sorry, thanks to suboptimal angelboot boot loader there's no way to change the kernel boot command line without flashing a different kernel.

If you don't get in via serial or ssh, you need to flash a kernel with init=/bin/busybox sh

Thanks,

Is there a way to recover the packages loaded into sd?

Several reported running post install scripts. I assume these updated flash ram as well as sd ram. If that is so can those updates be recovered?

Thanks,
Dan

Well,

Some packages came accross and some 'did not'.

Wellenreiter and mediaplayer2 seem to work.

Opera and opie-camera do not. I seem to recall seeing a required link for opera somewhere. I suspect it is missing. What about opie-camera? Is there a link or should I simply un-install and reinstall?

Thanks,
Dan
