Title: started to use OZ but did I make the right choice in the ROM
Post by: RobertS on January 25, 2004, 07:44:30 pm
I got the SL-5500 about a year ago.  I used it as is at first & then flashed the older OZ.  I also got the Hawking Ethernet CF card.  There were some issues with syncing with the OL2k I needed to use for work & eventually sat in the cradle.

Recently I decided that I should spend more time to figure this out.  Proceeded to flash with OZ 3.3.5 (40/24).

My goals are to be able to use mySL-5500 to:

- sync with OL2k (contacts & to-do)
- run a good browser
- all the network utilities needed for day-to-day troubleshooting
- be able to work wired or wireless
- will be nice if I can open Windoze documents & spreadsheets
- use VNC client to control a PC

For the above goals, was the decision for me to flash with OZ 3.3.5 the right decision for the above?

Thanks,
Robert

Everything besides syncing with outlook shout be easy to get working.  I\'m sure someone here will be able to help you with that though.

Syncing with Outlook also works. You need the old intellisync software (qtopia desktop may also work, but I use intellisync) - Either use the one which came on the CD with your Z or grab the slightly updated version from: www.sharp.co.uk/zaurus/support/support.htm grab the CD Update zip file.
