Title: Why Not Sync Ko/pi And Ka/pi With Outlook Via Dtm?
Post by: daniel3000 on May 30, 2005, 04:12:31 am
Hello,

I have installed the Zaurus C3000 Intellisync per Trisoft's instructions so that I have English menus etc.

Not I can sync Outlook with the internal applications.

If I then do a sync of KO/PI and KA/PI using the Sharp_DTM profile, I have everything I need.

It seems to work also in the other direction.

Are there any problems with this process or can I rely on it to keep all data?

This would be a fine workaround for the still missing outlook sync feature of the KDEPIM/PI applications (although it requires a few screen taps more). But I'll only do that if I know I can rely on it.

Thanks
daniel

I've been using the calendar app for about two or three weeks now and the synching is working for me.  I usually end up doing two synchs.  First I synch with DTM to pick up any entries that I made in KOPI and then I synch Sharp-Outlook to get apply those to Outlook and pick up any new appointements from Outlook.   When that's done, I do the DTM synch again to apply the changes to KOPI.

KOPI is growing on me.  The only part I'm bummed about is having to store two copies of my calendar DTM format and KOPI format.

I have not tried the Contacts application yet.  The Sharp format works for me so far.

Hi,

This process (Outlook <-> intellisync <-> DTM <-> KO/PI) is reliable.
I've been using it intensively at work for at least one year without any problem.

There's just one missing feature : if a task has a reminder in outlook, this reminder will be lost during this process and it will not appear in KO/PI (it's also true in the other direction).
It seems to be due to DTM.

Regards,
plcg

Hi guys,
I hope you can help me get the synchronise via DTM working on my SL-C3100.

I have been using the built-in calendar and even with the patch to allow recurring events am disappointed since alarms don't appear to work unless the Zaurus is on.

I have installed 2.1.5 (stable) version of the Ko/Pi address book, but seem unable to make it sync in any manner.

The Sharp datebook/calendar is synchronising with Outlook, but when I attempt to Import (file->import->qpie qtopia calendar) nothing happens.

Trying Synchronize->Sharp_DTM results in the error message "Sorry, the database access command failed!   Nothing synced!"

Any ideas on get Ko/Pi synced on a stock SL-C3100.

Cheers,
Marcus
