Title: Sharp Rom Applets On Oz?
Post by: chayimkirshen on June 02, 2005, 08:41:56 am
Is it possible to get the Sharp ROM applets working on OZ?  What do I do with makecompat to make this happen?  I *really* want to get resumeguard working again!

It's not possible. I remember having layed out details in another post about SharpROM InputMethods on OZ.

does it have a source available? it can be recompiled probably for OZ.

But who will maintain it?

I don't have the sources to things like resumeguard or the memory applets.  This is too bad, as resumeguard has saved my battery repeatedly.

Google, first hit gives the home page:

http://www.zyxt.org/zaurus/resumeguard.html (http://www.zyxt.org/zaurus/resumeguard.html)

the source is there (4th link on the page):

http://www.zyxt.org/zaurus/ResumeGuard-0.1-src.tar.gz (http://www.zyxt.org/zaurus/ResumeGuard-0.1-src.tar.gz)

I note that the need for this is due to the alarm implementation on the standard Sharp ROMs. You may well find that it's not needed with OZ (and if it is, the root cause should be tracked down).

Ah sweet.  Last time I checked there wasn't source available.  Of course if the alarms work properly now then I don't have the need =)

In a past post, Mickeyl told me that the [sharp-]compat-libs only work on binary executables.  Applets in Qtopia/Opie are shared library objects.
