Anyone have a rom for the c1000, or will Trisoft's c3000 one work fine? I just got my c1000 and dying to put it in english.
Thanks!

Meshuga,
how about the downloads on SL-C1000 download page (http://www.trisoft.de/en_c1000howto.htm) ?
Not listed there, but actually in the download area
is the latest backup set with the actual Ko/PI
applications:
SL-C1000 backup set 05/27/2005 (http://www.trisoft.de/download/C1000-2005-05-27-15-00.zip)
Have fun

Thank you Trisoft! But I'm curious about:
How to: Download the ZIP-file, unzip it and copy into the "Backup_Files" directory of a CF or SD memory card (at least 32 MB). Put the card in the Zaurus, select "Settings", start "Backup Restore" and start "Restore".
Can someone walk me thru these steps when I'm still in Japanese?
Thanks

Conics English conversion download and howto (http://downloads.conics.net/pda/zaurus-sl-c700/eng-inst/mcconvert-pics/index.html)
I restored my C1000 to the original Japanese and had it converted to English a few moments later following the above instructions. I believe I read somewhere that this same method works for other C series Zaurii.

Meshuga,
simply download first the english manual from our download
page. All steps are explained in the section "Localisation after
factory reset".
For sure you can use one of the available "conversion scripts"
that exist on some websites. But using our localisation backup
is easier and includes a lot more than a simple english convert.
You'll also get usable PIM applications, USB automounter,
european keyboard / handwriting, working KeyHelper etc.

You can also do a first quick conversion by changing locale.conf file.
This way you might feel more comfortable while adding Trisoft's great backup, if you feel like doing it.
(BTW, you'll need to install a console/terminal app to change locale.conf)
Check here (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10824) for more info.
Or do a search about locale.conf
And... Welcome!!
