Title: Incomplete Flash?
Post by: shinRaiden on June 04, 2005, 12:58:18 am
System is a CL-860.

Flashing seemed to go ok, no complaints iirc.

Now when I go for a first-boot, I get the logo in the corner, then it flashes to the second screen.

Quote
INIT: Entering Runlevel: 2

.
Starting advanced power management daemon: start-stop-daemon: stat /usr/sbin/apm

Starting syslog/klogd: done
Starting Bluetooth subsystem: hcid sdpdCan't open HIDP control socket: Non such f

 hidd rfccom.
Starting GPE display manager: gpe-dm

and that's where it leaves off.

The email light is blinking once every 3~4 seconds too.

The power button on the back properly suspends it seems, and I have a blinking box on the line following the "gpe-dm" line.

Just tried another flash, same results. Email light is not flashing yet though.

Any ideas?

Have you check MD5 sum? Some times, rom image isn' complete and give you some problems. If you checked, have you format your CF before? (this is not a necesary step, but sometimes it give me problems with flashing).

no, haven't checked out everything there yet, I'm wondering if maybe I have 'wrong' partition sizes. At least I'm not in a panic though, since I'm paranoid enough to make a full NAND flash backup before I try to zap a new system on it, so I'm back up and running, but not with OE-GPE yet.
