I just got around to trying out the utility ZUC downloaded from the Opie feed and installed on my OZ collie. It gives incorrect answers to every conversion you try.
The ZUC on my Sharp ROM Zaurus works fine.
Is this another "bug"??
How can such a simple utility get mangled?

One of Oz's big changes (and one of the reasons backwards compatibility was killed) was "softfloat" - a faster assembly-optimized floating point unit in software, instead of the Arm's dog-slow hardware workaround for their lack of a built-in FPU. It may be that your ZUC wasn't compiled with softfloat in mind and therefore produces some weird results. (Or it may be something with softfloat itself. I've heard of Hancom Sheet having problems with wrong calculation values on Oz as well.)

downloaded from the Opie feed
Is this from here:
http://www.openzaurus.org/official/unstable/3.5.3/feed/opie/ (http://www.openzaurus.org/official/unstable/3.5.3/feed/opie/)
If not, look in there as all the apps in the feed use softfloat.
Otherwise it'll require some more investigation.

Thanks for that explanation. I have noticed that Doom and Iceblox are both MUCH faster and smoother on OZ than on the Sharp ROM so there is some "up" side to this, I guess.
I used the ZUC from the opie feed that you cited and also tried one from the ZUG feed.

Might be worth checking that the OZ feed version was definitely the one you were using.

It's definitely the one in the Opie feed. It does give an odd message when it is installing though - it says "installing Zuc (640x480-1) to sd card". Is this a version for models other than the collie? The Opie version doesn't work at ALL unless you install the Sharp compats on it.
No matter, the regular zuc download version from ZUG doesn't work either.

Zuc Version 640x480 doesn't sound like the one from the OpenZaurus feed.
Our version is 1.1.2-ern. I bet you have some other feeds in your src.conf and it picks up the wrong one because of some odd versioning in the other feed.
