Hi Guys,
I know that pdaXrom for the C1000 isn't ready yet. Is it possible to install gnome on the C1000 running pdaXrom?
-
some parts of gnome are compiled for pdaxrom (gnumeric for instance)
but not the whole gnome environement.
of course you can try to compile it yourself.

I wouldn't even know where to start!!!!!

If you've got a big card (512Mb at least, 1Gb is even better) and don't want to port anything, search this forum for "Debian on pdaxrom".
Set up debian as described in the first post, apt-get all gnome or other apps you like.
They will run in the pdaxrom window-manager.
Just start them using: "# Crd the-app-you-like &" from an aterm
I used to run e.g. "kbudget", "planner" and "gnumeric" this way.
Now I run planner directly on pdaX (and I don't really notice a speed difference), gnumeric still this way cause it seems to have less problems with my xls files.
Chero.

also, consider using xfce4, that is quite gnomelike, and let you obviously use gnome and kde apps - it's way faster than kde, actually quite as fast as matchbox.
Really neat
