Hi All,
I have a fresh instance of the Cacko SLC3Kb1 ROM on my C3000.
When I recently installed the sudo package on it (sudo_1.6.3p7-2_arm.ipk), it disabled the suspend functionality of the Zaurus completely. On/off button doesn't do anything and the suspend menu item also leaves the machine on. When you close the clamshell it remains on. Practically, this renders the C3000 useless since it continually drains the battery even when you don't use it.
Deinstalling the sudo package didn't help, not even after a reboot. Only a complete reinstall of the cacko ROM put the suspend back into work.
I tried to search the forum for this but didn't find a solution.
Is there a newer version of the sudo package which doesn't cause this phenomena?
Thanks,
Andras

The answre is simple - dopn't install that package, sudo is already included

True. I didn't check it because I simply followed Meanie's instructions about the installation step-by-step. However, those instructions were for the Sharp ROM 1.11 and not for the Cacko SLC3Kb1 ROM.
Thanks

Well, Andras,
It looks like I have the same issue and I also had installed that version of sudo for same reason....
Oh well, time for reflash I guess....there goes the time I spent yesterday installing X/Qt/Debian....
Thanks,
Mark

Yeah. And the most annoying thing is that I actually didn't need sudo because the Cacko SLC3Kb1 already included it. Grrrrrr.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that the version of 'sudo' that Cacko3kb1.23 installs doesn't include 'visudo' that is needed per Meanie's X/Qt/Debian install instructions on his website.
Or did I just miss it??
If it doesn't include 'visudo', how can I edit the 'etc/sudoers' file??
Thanks,
Mark

I believe you can go without visudo. At least I managed to install debian without it (I also followed Meanie's instructions). Meanie writes something about it but I don't remember what (some things need to be done as root I think).
