Thought I'd give OZ another try on my C1000 after failing to get USB networking to work on pdaXrom.
Akita image installed without a problem, but after upgrading to the latest kernel (zImage-akita-20050505180646.bin) I get an error on boot up telling that the kernel is mismatched with the version of OZ.
What have I done wrong? It still boots (after a minute delay), but I can't help feel that I've missed something out.

The kernel is from a later snapshot release, hence the WARNING. You can safely ignore it (even remove it by removing /etc/init.d/version) as far as you know what you are doing.

Thanks - I thought that might be the case, but it's nice to have it confirmed.
I assume that this is only done for snapshots and not release version?

Yeah. If you get the warning on a release version out of the box, then the kernel hasn't been flashed for some reason.
