hello,
i tried the engines gnuchess and phalanx is also available, but i need
a gui. i found xboard somewhere, but you cant change the size, its too small.
a 480x640 gui would be nice. does anybody know a feed which contains
a usable gui?

There's a copy of kKnights in the Cacko feed, I belive that is based on xBoard.

I seem to remember that there's a front end for chess included in the standard pdaXrom distribution but I can't remember what it's called.

maybe i should mention that i use pdaxrom on a tosa (see signature).
i downloaded the cacko packages for zknights and hope that they will work..

I noticed the group name after I'd replied..Doh! As I said though the last time I used pdaxrom (rc10) there was a chess game included with it.

you are right ltrm, in the unstable feed of rc10 you can find gnuchess+phalanx and xboard
as a gui, but the gui is about 320x240 and i cant change the resolution...

Hi,
rorate screen & type in terminal:
# xboard -size moderate
-
that's what I do.
I think I have that on my zjunk page :->
the moderate size works on a screen without the bar at the bottom...
