Hi friends!! good day
how everybody knows today was release (to sale) the Zaurus SL-C3100, but also there is another release, the site called:

On this site you can see seven "new models" of Zaurus, well it is not absolutly true, I mean there is new colors for the Zaurus SL-C3100, that is nice, isn't??
After all, the change of C3000 model to C3100 just was the flash memory and the color
please take a look at this site, I love the red model it looks great (I think).
But unfortunelly I don''t know japanese language, anybody could be nice to tell me how could be possible to get one Zaurus SL-C3100 with other cover color?? (like red or blue
Anybody could explain it?

The main page would not translate since most of the text on the page is a picture file. However, babelfish translated one of the links on the page. Looks like it is a contest of sorts. Translation is a bit crude but you can still get the jist. The link that is translated is the one directly below the picture of the yellow zaurus (the one where all the zaurii are in a row, with the yellow one on the end).

I just took a quick look at that page...
It's a contest (campaign). The different color C3100 models are prizes; you cannot purchase them. There is only one available of each color.
Too bad.

that is a really bad news, I can't understand why they do that; it is worse that see a beauty special woman and then someone say to you "Sorry friend, she is for other one, you have to select a common lady".

I dunno... brushed titanium would be my pref (no plastic shell)

The amount of work that goes into brushing titanium must be quite silly.
Having said that, I you have a courageous heart, you can always dye your Zaurus shell.

thats what I was thinking about, you can but the covers from some japanese website, too bad I cant find a site in english that sells the cases, electric blue would be nice:)

Dyeing the case may be possible, and easy.
When Heckler and Koch produced civilian versions of their new plastic frame rifles for the American market, one of the modifications they made was to make the plastic parts grey instead of black. A number of gun nuts immediately investigated various ways to make the rifles the proper (evil) black color. One of the ways tried was thermal dye sublimation, which can be used to impregnate dark images into the plastic of white items like coffee mugs. But this was a complex process and was supplanted by a simpler technique. Guys use liquid Rit dye (three bottles of black and one dark green) in hot to boiling water. They soak the parts in a five gallon bucket for a few hours with stirring, and vola, they get dripping wet black plastic. This is a permanent process that withstands rigorous handling and use afterward.
Rit dye is a commercial product in the United States used to dye cloth and clothing. It is available at drugstores and craft shops. I think you would have to start out with the white case but you could probably try just about any color. To color a Zaurus case, you would only need one bottle of dye in a gallon of water in a plastic bucket. Some experimentation would be prudent. Gun enthusiasts found out that when the black plastic trigger and sight parts were subjected to their process, they turned purple, YMMV.
