I'm looking for a simpad unit and found it only at Ebay.
Do you know if siemense continues to produce it, and what is the MSRP?
Thanks

It was in production up to 2002 or so.

eBay is currently your best bet. And I think you just missed the latest flood of SL4s ...

Thank you for the replies.
I wonder, how do some sellers claim to sell NEW or almost new Simpads?

I got one of these new SIMpads from eBay. It is indeed *new*. No tricks or anything. Its prob old stock. The only thing old about it was the external box, with a bit of scratches. The unit and complete accessories are all brand new.
Sounds too good to be true, but in this case, it is.

A lot of the time these boxes are warrantee stock. IE New boxes that were put aside for warrantee swap outs that were never needed. Once the warrantee runs out on retailed units it frees up the spares to be sold out of warrantee or a 60day RTB but are otherwise new.

If you absolutely have to have a 'new' product then there will be apparently a spiritual update of the Simpad.

Its a bit too pricey for me but I'll be waiting in the wings for another bargain in six months when it goes on sale .
No PCMCIA but it has a 20 gig hard drive and all the connectivity requirements you can need.
Regards,
Karl

Yeah, those pepper pads do look pretty sweet...kinda expensive, but it already comes with linux, and I'm sure the price will go down...
Very nice...

A $900 pepper pad is a lot more than the $125 simpad.
Anyway, I need a win ce device - like a PocketPC with a large 8" screen and with WiFi capabilities.
I guess I'll have to wait for the next SL4 auction at Ebay.

I might be selling mine that I bought from Buddify from EBay when I get the replacement Buddify is sending me...with WIFI card that works with it.
I'll decide when I get it and post here if I decide to sell it.
I really have too much on my hands right now to be flashing the SIMpad and fooling with it.

Just being curious - why do you need a replacement SL4? Aren't hey all the same?
Also, do you know if Budiffy has more units for sale?

Well, somehow Tom's SL4 died ... hence the replacement.
