Does it use pls files (shoutcast)? I haven't been able to get the older one to play them. Manually adding the URLs worked for me though.

Excellent news! Kino2 is one of my favourite applications.
It's well worth the money in donations; you do all donate don't you?.....
It's a real shame that their isn't a port to any other Roms. I suppose there's no chance of putting a bounty out to get it ported to Opie/OZ?
Would it be even possible to port to an X based Rom or is it too tied to Sharp's proprietary extensions? Xmms is ok but it doesn't seem to be ergonomically suited to use on a small screen.

Does the current or new version support auto load & play like I've asked about previously in this thread (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=13717&mode=linear)?

My understanding is that this would not be a huge effort - it requires an alteration to the file open dialog which is used (replacing the current call with one to an Opie compatible call).

helps if you post a bug report or feature request as he mentioned in other threads.

He addressed 2 bugs I put in there a few days ago and fixed both of them! As he had mentioned, there's too many things for him to just remember, so it's helpful to post it there.

if all the power-management bugs have been fixed in addition to those changes, it's going to be rockin' :-)

I'm a bit late to this party, but i'm ready to ditch the new Sharp Music Player so i can access most of my music collection (oggs), and was casting lustful glances at Kino, in spite of our former falling out due to instability and power issues.
It's great to hear she's fresh back from the shrink, ready for another try.
Anyway, this talk about power management makes me wonder about the power consumption of the different players available. I was reading the reviews for the C3000 on the zug homepage and noticed that one reviewer claimed to get over 12 HOURS of music playback with the C3000, claiming that was comparable to the C860. Another review listed a much more credible figure. I've never been able to get a full day's work worth of music from my c860, and was left wondering if there's something wrong with my player software, battery, or clock.
How much playback time does everyone else get from their Z?
