I have installed the two and there is an interesting problem which I am trying to solve.
Some files are played in a small rectangle in one of the players but then they are played in full screen on the other and vice versa.
Is there way to make them all play in full screen in one of the application only?
By the way since Zplayer 0.10 it seems to be better then latest kino2 since it knows how to redraw the screen back when playback is finished.
I am using mplayer 1.15 with bvdd 0.4 like it was suggested in the forum before.

i updated my zaurusvideo info
it gives you all the software and info you need to run video on a zaurus c-xxxx series.
ZaurusVideo (http://home.earthlink.net/~cresho/)
i am updating sl5000 video information as well.

-vo fbdev -fbmode qvga
Wouldn't it cancel all the use of bvdd hardware acceleration?
Cresho I am sorry but where exactly are tutorials for playback?
All I found is how to create movies for the Z not how to playback them;)

Ok seems like I found the culprit
Apparently the "Smart Crop" option in Kino2 is the one that changes that.
The films that didn't play in full screen in Kino2 but did in Zplayer did so cause Kino2 had the option turned on.
But some only play in full screen with this option off and some only when option is off.
Any suggestions?

try with
mplayer -vm -x 640 -y 480
but the problem is that it leaves a blank screen after playback

kino2 will leave the screen in that fashion until he gets the new release out (hopefully). In this respect, for now, I've found that zplayer will correctly do a screen refresh.
I use zplayer for my videos, and kino2 for my audio (so far, until the new versions come out)

its in the kino2update zip file. that has the instructions on how to set up the player with libs and settings in the readme in the zip file. its on the tutorial page but you can see it in the download.
it also has a link to preview a movie. so you can see the results.

Ok Cresho thanks I will take a look.
I still don't understand guys to what command line switch that smart crop feature translates?
