Hello
I have a SL-5500, and i think i'm ready to try OZ.
Reading installation instructions (http://openzaurus.org/wordpress/installation/sl-50005500/ (http://openzaurus.org/wordpress/installation/sl-50005500/)) i know i should select the appropiate zImage.
But in my Zaurus "System Info", i've get information that i have 28 MB memory and 32 Internat Storage.
But i doesn't find any zImage for me: zImage-collie-28-32.bin.
Maybe i've getting the wrong information.
Any help??
cheers

Are you running the Sharp 'ROM' at the moment?
If so, you effectively have a 32-32 image.
With OZ you can choose how you split the RAM-disk and memory.

Yes, i'm running Sharp ROM.
So, i have 32 + 32
I'll download the apropriatte image....

Hey,
don't misunderstand. You may choose any zImage, which adds up to 64 MB.
32-32 means
32 MB System RAM
32 MB RAM Disk (which holds /home/root on Sharp-ROMs)
you may alternatively try 64-0
64 MB System RAM
0 MB no RAM disk at all
this is IMHO a good choice, if you have a resident ext2 formated SD card
for installing additional software and private data.

Quite - I run my collie with 64-0 as I have no desire to use a RAM-disk, but do want all of the memory available,
Sorry I didn't make this point clearer (thanks Mag1c),

Slightly OT, but it seemed like a good place to ask this:
What is your experience using 64-0? I do remove my SD card from time to time. . . will this lock up the Z every time I do so? At the moment, it seems like it makes a habit of locking up every time its expecting a card and doesn't have one; it also has a habit of not ejecting the card when I ask it to.
On the other hand, I'm getting ready to install pocketworkstation, and could probably use the extra RAM.

If you aren't running apps off your SD you should be able to unmount and remove it - no problems... I've done this lots.
RAM disk is only helpful as long as the Z doesn't crash or lockup. As soon as you have to reset / reboot it anything on the RAM disk is toast (it is not non-volitile or NVRAM storage you see on some PDAs) ... this really limits the usefulness of it in my opinion. So I run 64-0.
