Hello all,
Just a request for some kind soul that already has a cross-compiler or has a compile-environment setup on their Z...
The QT nethack that\'s compiled by Warwick Allison is very difficult to use on the 640x480 screen on the C7x0 units (even in non-compact mode). Through a discussion with Warwick, apparently the default X11 version can be compiled for use in a QT enviroment by following the instructions in the \"Install.Qt\" in the source - an example of how well it works is the X11 version omin0us compiled for the Cacko X11 rom:
http://www.cacko.biz/showscreenshot.php?fi...lder=feed/shots (http://www.cacko.biz/showscreenshot.php?filename=nethack_3.4.0-3_arm.png&folder=feed/shots)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

how is it difficult? it\'s so quick and easy!
up the icon font to 24x28, text at medium.
see: http://zaurus.spy.org/screenshots/scottyel...4x768_scrot.jpg (http://zaurus.spy.org/screenshots/scottyelich/2003-10-19-174026_1024x768_scrot.jpg)
The X11 one would be nice if the icon font could have the size changed, dynamically, while playing.
I like the ability to drop down the text area to see what happened, but normally I leave it at only a few lines.
the stats at the bottom are nice, but waste a lot fo space --
and so the playing area is far too small.
imho

I\'d be happy to compile this for you but I\'m having a hard time finding the source. All I\'ve found are binaries. If you post a link to the source, I\'ll get it compiled for you.

nevermind, I found the source. I\'ll post again when it\'s compiled.

Scott, \"difficult to use\" was probably the wrong description - more like \"not optimised for use\". The compact version that Warwick created worked very well for the 320x240 screen but didnt work quite so well with the 640x480 screen. E.g. multiple screens for stats and message history when there was more than enough space to fit it all in, having the message screen overlap the map screen making it difficult to read etc. Also, unlike most other versions, you cannot change the specific font style/size for the different sections separately. Turning off Compact mode helps, but it still has many problems (like status icons overlapping words, too small message window etc).
Given that the original code is perfect for the 640x480 screen, why not compile that?
Ckeswani, thanks big time for the help! I await the results with bated breath!!
