Title: C3000 Dictionary And Translator With Reader?
Post by: xdivider on August 02, 2005, 03:03:31 am
Is there any way to use the c3000 built-in dictionary and translation software? Been trying to read some Japanese ebooks recently and it would be a great help to paste words and phrases into the dictionary to get their meanings and into the translator to understand grammar.

What ebook reader are you using?

Opie-Reader has a number of ways to select words and text and copy them to the clipboard. Then just open the translator and it should just grab the clipboard and translate it. If it comes up in Japanese then you need to change the settings from EN -> JP to JP -> EN.

The dictionary has a psaste function that should allow you to lookup Japanese words, I'm not familiar with the C3K inbuilt dictionary, but the Cxx0 and C1K dictionary has different tabs for each of the dictionaries, switch through the tabs till you get to the JP -> EN one and your word with tranlsation should be there.

Thanks. I was wondering if there was any way to duplicate my previous combo of using zten/lookup in the opie-reader's dictionary function, where tapping the selected word will bring up the dictonary.

It should work as the c3000k dictionary is just a fork of zten by sharp.

Actually you can install ztenv and use the inbuilt dictionaries with it, probably also with the zten.

Try changing zten to the name of the app (zdict I think) in the settings of opie-reader and all should be fine.
