Title: Error Installing Opie Reader 0.7h Via Terminal
Post by: Snappy on August 04, 2005, 10:24:53 am
Hi there,

I'm trying to install opie reader on a Z5500 /w 3.10 Sharp rom via qpe terminal  1.5.0-3.

It fails with "Cannot create directory '//home/tmp/ipkg/opie-reader-simpad': Permission denied"

I tried chown but I've no idea what to params to use ...

Please help. Thanks!

Try doing su first.

i.e.

> su
> ipkg install opie-reader....

You need to restart qtopia. If you don't have the "Stop" application you can do a soft reset (don't do a hard one!) by toggling the switch next to the battery cover. Just don't take the cover off and hit the switch inside (that's a hard reset).
