Title: Flowchart app?
Post by: kotj.mf on February 01, 2004, 10:56:04 pm
Anybody know if there\'s a simple flowchart program ala Kivio or Visio available for the Z?

I\'m taking a @#$^! intro to programming class; if I\'m going to waste time messing around with purty pictures, I\'d like to be able to do it in the can.

I swear I\'ve looked all over, but nothing\'s turned up.

Thanks.

Technically Yellow is a UML design tool, but I guess it could be used like a flowchart. It is also free now. So is it\'s Java cousin Jumlix, which also has XML, JPEG, and HTML export features.

Use FreeNoteQT. Turn on the shape assister, and draw away. It\'s not quite as easy to use as Visio, but I\'ve used it to flowchart succesfully (using the keyboard shortcuts makes it much faster). Play around with the config (like angle values) for better shape autoformatting.

Excellent tool!

I would also like to use dot. But it uses Tcl in some parts. Then another question is about the availability of Tcl, which might not be so easy on Sharp Rom or OZ. I do hope I\'m wrong this time!
