Title: Sharp Released Source Code For Sl-c3100
Post by: Ineo on August 22, 2005, 04:16:32 am
Today Sharp released source code for SL-C3100

http://developer.ezaurus.com/ (http://developer.ezaurus.com/)
http://developer.ezaurus.com/sl_j/source/source_dl_c3100.htm (http://developer.ezaurus.com/sl_j/source/source_dl_c3100.htm)

I hope suitable ROMs (Cacko, OpenZaurus and PDAxRom) for this device will be available soon

It's only the kernel source code, which although useful doesn't really help in making new ROM images.

I installed Cacko 1.23rc1 for SL-C3100, everything works fine, except for my compact flash wi-fi card (Planex GW-CF11X), which was working when I was using original Japanese ROM. I hope, using this kernel will solve this problem. On the other hand, some guy from OpenZaurus told, they will not make a ROM for this model, until Sharp releases the source code for the kernel.

Borzoi! that's the sharp's codename for c3100. Not sure what does it mean in Japanese, but in Russian it has negative meaning... borzoi is used in Chechen language too, but I'm not sure about its meaning there.
Any more takes?

Excellent. This answers a couple of questions. An OpenZaurus image for the Borzoi is now only some days away. Ineo, which updater.sh did you use to flash cacko onto the C3100?

No one in the OZ developer team has a 3100 - who would be interested to join us and become responsible for that machine?

I'm not good in ethno lingvistics, so not sure if there's a substantial difference (if any) between "борзой" and "борзый". In Russian it means the dog breed and used to implicate someone as being very speedy (or sometimes too speedy, with negative meaning). If anyone speaks Chechen here, would you elaborate?

I'm sure they didn't put any deep thought into it. it's just another dog codename.

Tetsu has already used the source code to make the final (?) version of his special kernel for the 3100. I don't know what the difference is between the provisional version that he had before, though.

2 Mickeyl : I would be glad to took part in the testing of OpenZaurus for 3100. I used updater.sh from SL-C3100-Qtopia-1.23rc1-2017180805.zip Ask Anton Maslovsky if you need details.

2 icruise : Tetsu's version is based on the sources of kernel for C1000

As for "Borzoi" - it is really just a dog breed name, if you know Russian, you can read about it here http://slovari.yandex.ru/art.xml?art=brokm...45%26%26isu%3D2 (http://slovari.yandex.ru/art.xml?art=brokminor/6/6886.html&encpage=brokminor&mrkp=http%3A//hghltd.yandex.com/yandbtm%3Furl%3Dhttp%253A//encycl.yandex.ru/texts/brokminor/6/6886.html%26text%3D%25E1%25EE%25F0%25E7%25EE%25E9%26reqtext%3D%25E1%25EE%25F0%25E7%25EE%25E9%253A%253A174945%26%26isu%3D2)

If you don't - use translator, for example http://babelfish.altavista.com/ (http://babelfish.altavista.com/) ;-) In the old Russian this word had a meaning of "fast, quick, rapid, swift". In modern Russian slang it means somewhat close to "tiresome, troublesome, annoying, boring, bothersome, bothering; pesky person " ;-)

No, the new version (which came out yesterday) is based on the newly released 3100 kernel.
