has there been a halt in OZ production? i have a 5600 and i\'d really like a stable version of 3.2 :/
if anyone knows, please let me know.. it looks like i might be sticking with the default Sharp rom seeing as how i dont wanna deal with the GUI installer not working in Zyn and i can\'t find a compat tkrom

I am currently doing work on 5600 and oz. Only issues am I seeing are usb on the zaurus not working, and time getting reset on reboot.

I don\'t know what on earth would give you the idea that OZ has halted production.
Also, why would you want a stable version of 3.2?? THat\'s pretty old now. They are up to version 3.3.5 and 3.3.6-pre1 One of those at least I believe is supposed to work on the 5600. Meanwhile mickeyl and others who are active on the OZ project are VERY active in these forums and were active on the devnet boards untill they dissapeared.
I\'m using 3.3.6 on my 5500 right now, and I\'m either going to flash back to 3.3.5 or try to do some tweaking/compiling on my own if I can ever figure out cross compilation.
Also, they were 1/3 of the way to 3.4 months ago and i can only imagine that they are much closer now. My understanding is that 3.4 is intended to support all current models, so we\'ll all be happy.
If that\'s not enough for you there is also a project on the horizon from the Lycoris people that is based heavily on Opie and OZ, so that may be worth checking out. though frankly, I have no idea what gcc it uses or what kernel or anything else other than it is opie and they \'were\' going to rip off MS\'s PocketPC name for it. Of course, since the site is down, it\'s pretty clear

Oh, and there\'s a couple of other Opie roms out there specificaly for the 5600 if you look around.

woah sorry, didnt mean to offend anyone
i just got my zaurus like 3 days ago and i\'ve seen a ton of websites down, and after speaking to one of my friends who has owned a zaurus for a while he said they might stop that\'s all
and the last stable release i can see is 3.2, but i cant find it for the 5600.. that\'s the only reason i said 3.2
anyways, thanks for the replies.. i haven\'t coded c or asm in years or else i\'d try and help you out.. maybe one day
god speed
btw: lycoris was just /.ed, so the site will probably be back up shortly

What alternative ROMs are actually available for the 5600? OpenZaurus\'s 3.3.5 README says its not ready (not for end-users, anyway). Zynergy works, but I\'m not clear what it\'s advantages are. Everything else seems to be for the 5000, 5500, or clamshell models only.
I just got my 5600. Because I don\'t have any data on it, I can afford to be a real ROM-slut, but I don\'t really see any options (except maybe Zynergy).
By the way, I don\'t think that Lycoris\'s web page on their Pocket PC has gone down due to the /. effect; I think they decided to delay the product. There is an update on the linuxdevices article that says it will be released in the 2nd quarter of 2004. At my company, that wouldn\'t be until at least March.

Zynergy is the only rom i found available for the 5600 that\'s actually made for it..

So far after 2 days of playing around with Zynergy I can say I like it. My only issue with it at this point is no mediaplayer. Now, mediaplayer is available for it with the codecs, and I have successfully installed it with ipkg install, I just cant get it to actually PLAY anything.
