Good news, I finally got Wellenreiter working but now I can\'t seem to get normal use of my Ambicom-prism2 card anymore. Does anybody know how I can get my card back to normal use and keep wellenreiter working? Also, before I got Wellenreiter working, Kismet was working and now Kismet isnt working anymore either. Does anybody know how I can get everything back to normal?
Can anybody help?

Perhaps a few more details would be helpful, what ROM, which version of wellenreiter, what did you do to get wellenreiter going, etc. I\'m using wellenreiter on both Cacko Qtopia and tKc ROMs with the symbol card without problems. I did experience something similar to your situation which was solved by doing a reflash and not restoring backup instead installing everything I use (the restore was a mess of apps from migrations from several earlier Cacko ROMs)
Cheers,
Jerry

Wellenwrieter will work on all Sharp roms as long as you have a kernel with wireless exstensions enabled. Depending on your model there are a number here in ZUG downloads that will work with symbol based cards. There are also ipk\'s avail;able for hostap drivers that in conjuction with the above will work with other cards.

Thanks for reply. I have linksys wcf12, with sharp rom 1.32 (from zaurus site). \"wireless extensions\" --] is this built into the std kernel ?

I have the Sharp 3.10 ROM. When I copy over the files for Wellenreiter:
libopiecore2_1.8.2-20031219.2_arm.ipk
libopienet2_1.8.2-20031219.2_arm.ipk
libopieui2_1.8.2-20031219.2_arm.ipk
opie-wellenreiter_1.0.2-20031219_arm.ipk
opie-wellenreiter-help-en_1.1.0-20031219_arm.ipk
And then browse to my Install Files folder, when I click on one to install. The install screen appears but there are no packages available for me to install.
What am I doing wrong?

The reason you can\'t see the ipks is that opie uses a diffrent version of ipkg. There is a version of ipkg for installing opie apps (search ZSI). However, you\'re better off using wellenreiter and required libs that has been compiled for the Sharp-based ROMs. Proto has the necessary ipks in his feed for his tKc ROM, they are a little tricky to get without using his ROM, but it can be done. I don\'t have the URL on me at present (and I think the info was on the devnet site). I\'ll post the URL to his feed later if you need it.

Thanks for the reply, I have opted to go out and purchase a CF card and will flash my ROM to something a little more receptive.

For those that are not using Proto\'s tKc ROM but have a CXX0 Sharp-based ROM, and want to try wellenreiter that is complied for Qtopia-based ROMs. Here\'s how you can get Proto\'s ipks (this info was on devnet, sigh..)
Proto has setup his feed so that only requests for the correct filename get through. You can\'t browse his feed directory. So you look at the Packages file: http://feed.theprototype.org/zaurus/tkrom/...l-c7x0/Packages (http://feed.theprototype.org/zaurus/tkrom/sl-c7x0/Packages) to get the ipk names. Then in the address bar of your browser delete \"Packages\" and put in the file name for the package you want and you\'ll be able to download it.
Thanks to javab0y & Proto for their work compiling Mickeyl\'s fanastic sniffer for the Qtopia environment!
BTW, for Wellenreiter, you\'ll need libopie1, libopie2 & libpcap0 too. With those files and a wireless extension kernel, wellenreiter will work.
Cheers,
Jerry

Can something for c7x0 work on a Sl5500? I have a SL5500 running Tkc1.0 ROM. Goal is to get Wellenreiter and other apps working.

http://www.vanille.de/feed/sharp/ (http://www.vanille.de/feed/sharp/)

Those are older versions. Proto/javab0y compiled more recent versions.

Also the proto/javab0y version fixes the automatic dump file creation problem with Wellenreiter.
