Help!!
I'd like to say that I'm not a complete novice but perhaps your all disagree after reading this plea for help.
I'm trying to flash my SL-5500 with theKompany rom alpha 3. I have downloaded the initrd.bin and zimage files and loaded them to a CF card. I the proceeded as the TK website tells you to (hold the C+D keys and perform a Hard Rest) but instead of the Mail and power lights staying on they just keep flashing.
Am I missing some step or could it be the files??
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

Check md5sums of files (in case they are corrupt)
Check format of CF card
Lots of posts about this........

Cheers lardman
I will check the file numbers to ensure I'm running the correct files.
I've done a bit of surching this afternoon I've read a couple of posts that mention an Updater.sh file.
Is this required does anyone know??

Not on a 5500.
Just make sure the files are ok, the Cf card is ok and the files are named zImage and initrd.bin

Ok Still no joy.
Does anyone know whether it matters which zImage file you use with theKompany 2 alpha 3 rom?? I downloaded all the files from
http://kflog.org/~axel/GPS-CF_HOW_TO-TKROM...pha3.HowTo.html (http://kflog.org/~axel/GPS-CF_HOW_TO-TKROM2.0Alpha3/TkRom-2.0-Alpha3.HowTo.html)
The guy that wrote the article host the rom, zImage and associated files. Having looked at the ZUG downloads section I was going to download the rom from there but I can not see an associated zImage file to download for a 5500.
Any advice would be appreciated............

first time I flashed I got the same problem. The Cause was that I was copying the files to my CF from a windows PC which didnt write all the file. Make sure you use eject on the windows box to flush the buffers and actualy write the files to the CF.

Cheers for that advice CraigTyson but I have copied the files to the Zaurus via the intellisync file transfer program and then used the Zaurus file manager to move the files to the CF card.
I'm going to try to reformat my CF to Fat16 which I thought I had done but that seems the next logical step.
