Title: [sl 5500] Hentges Rom & Wi-fi Dcf-660w Don't Work!
Post by: LukeLuke on September 14, 2005, 03:22:19 am
I have bought the CF D-Link DCF-660w. When insert the card, at first time, it know the card as D-Link DCF-660w.
But when i eject the card for read the MAC and re-insert it, the Z don't know it....it say: Anonymous Memory .

I try to reboot and soft reset, hard-reset and re-flash but nothing......

"cardctl info 0" say nothing
"modprobe prism2_cs"
modprobe: module prism2_cs not found

I don't understand why the first time it know the card and the other no !!!!!!!!

HELP ME!!!!!

What can i do?

In the Hentges ROM, the module for the DCF-660w, wich is?

prism2_cs or hostap_cs ?????

Because i don't have a prism2_cs module. Must install it ?

THANKS

Bye

I have that card too - it's handled by hostap_cs module.

Look into syslog when you got that 'Anonymous memory' type - maybe something in kernel made OOPS so it was not recognised - 2.4-sharp kernels sometimes oops on wifi card insert ;(

when you insert the card, the Z see it immediately ? At the first time, have you edited some file or other?

I have try to insert the card on one mandrake distribution with an adapter PCMCIA-CF and at the first time the PC have see the card well by the orinoco_cs module! I think that the card works!

What can i do ?

Another question: when i launch syslogd and re-insert the card, it say nothing....... How can i upgrade the level of debuging ?

THANKS

both my Zauruses see that card out-of-box without any tweaking in config files.

Basically most of CF wifi cards which are used by PDA users works out-of-box on OZ 3.5.x

btw syslog - read manual
