do a factory reset on the c3000 and everything gets wiped and unit will revert to the state in which you purchased it originally (at least software and configuration wise, except the scratches if any

Aren't there two options in the service (or flash?) menu regarding microdrie factory reset? One of them reparitions, thus makes the files inaccessible, and the other one really overwrites the hard disk with /dev/zero.
The latter one would be the safer one.

That should help you in reseting the device.

thanks! so if i want to get this into selling condition, without having any of my info on it, i should just do the reset? i noticed that reverting back to factory defaults would make it go back to japanese, but i would like to keep it in english for the benefit of the buyer. thanks guys!
