Sadly, there appears to be no money in it... handheld marketing (aside from game and media players) really seems aimed at coporate types, and that means whatever is perceived as "mainsteam", whether it works or not is what is to be purchased. God help some poor it manager that buys a truckload of something "weird" and it fails to work with some unnecessary ms standard breaking protocol. At least that is my take on the us market. The people I work for won't buy any desktop stuff that doesn't say "dell," as a rule.... no matter the track record of the stuff, it is the perception "dell is good", not the performance.
Do I sound bitter about this?
My hope is that asia doesn't feel obliged to stagnate with the us (what is europe doing?!) and that some nifty convergence devices will keep coming from there

yeah..i get alot of customers complaining about memory problems. My customers, i yank out the memory and stick in new memory modules. Works better after. Just because it says dell on it, doesnt mean it is the best. One of my co workers.....
well to get back to my story-
One of my customers was telling me he couldnt boot beyond windows recovery. It would simply reset. I didnt even bother messing with the bios at all but i opened the bottom of the laptop and pulled out both memory modules and cleaned pins carefully. I placed them back in around 4 different ways and the last way worked. One of his memory modules just died. New laptop too and i told him dont even bother with the warranty cus you wont get your laptop back within 2 months.
yep...cheap is not necesserily "Made in Wankershaftyou" cuz it is "DELL", "Toshiba", "HP"
