Title: Collie R21 Kernel Upgrade And Intel Pro Wireless
Post by: jahminDayley on September 28, 2005, 11:29:20 pm
I just performed the kernel upgrade procedure on a 3.5.3 install on a collie zaurus.  The upgrade seems successful (no right directional pad issue anymore), but my intel pro wireless based CF card (Sony Clie pega wl100) no longer works.  I've gotten it to the point where it's recognized as an intel pro based wireless card when it's inserted, but can't access the network using this card (worked fine in 3.5.3.. I've also downgraded my kernel and it continues to work as long as I roll back all of the module upgrades as well).  I'm sure that I've upgraded all of the kernel modules for the r21 kernel.  logread complains of 'no PRI f/w'.  I've never had a problem with this card before with prior OZ releases... it just worked after flashing.  Anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on, or additional ways to diagnose this problem?

Update also out-of-kernel modules like you did with kernel ones.

Which version of the intel pro wireless network card is your Clie card based on? There are series which need the spectrum_cs driver.

From the back of the card:

Yeah, that sounds like the one which needs spectrum_cs. See excerpt from OZ spectrum.conf:
Code: [Select]
card "Intel PRO/Wireless 2011B"
  manfid 0x0089, 0x0001
  bind "spectrum_cs"
