Title: Archos Gmini Hard Drive Problem Please Help
Post by: dov4523 on September 29, 2005, 02:20:06 pm
Unfortunately I dropped my Archos today and the Harddrive is not responding as well as it should. When I tried to open a certain folder it gave me a cyclic redundency error. I can also feel the Hard drive vibrating more when I try to access it ... what should I do ??????

The first thing you should probably do is hook it up to your computer.  Once it's recognized (assuming it is) then try running scandisk on it.  That way, it'll check to make sure all your blocks are okay, and fix any problems.  Beyond that, I wouldn't mess with it unless it actually starts giving you problems (e.g., stops playing, starts skipping, etc.).  If it does any of that, it's time to call in Archos tech support.
