Title: Cryptoloop Modules

Do any cryptoloop and related kernel modules exist for pdaXrom to allow the use of encrypted loopback devices?

Now that I've found FreeOTFE, there is the possibility of accessing the same encrypted volumes on my linux box, windows, and hopefully pdaXrom. The volumes need to be fat/fat32 formatted to be read on both windows and linux.

Anyway, just wondering . . .

Another interesting cross-platform cryptothing would be TrueCrypt (http://sourceforge.net/projects/truecrypt). Anyone willing to compile?

It is for MS Windows and don't support Linux. Check their project homepage [a href=\"http://www.truecrypt.org/]http://www.truecrypt.org/[/url]

Linux is supported on Truecrypt! Anyone to give it a try?

Truecrypt does support linux, but you can only create the container files on a Windows machine. Full Linux support is forthcoming.

There is a version of bestcrypt available for pdaxrom, but it is built against the 2.4.18 kernel. So if you are using that kernel, bestcrypt works very well.

I am trying to compile the latest bestcrypt for 2.4.20, but I'm having problems ...

Also, it doesn't support kernel 2.4.

why the hassle with truecrypt when cryptoloop and loop-aes exist?! in order to use it with windows there is "crosscrypt" based on "filedisk", i think it now even has a gui

QUESTION: can pdaxrom run with a kernel compiled WITHOUT loop-support, as it is required for loop-aes?

As of mid-April, TrueCrypt does allow volume creation under Linux.  Has anyone tried compiling this for the Z?  I've been looking for a password safe that is as flexible as what I used on PalmOS, but something like TrueCrypt could open a lot of options.

As far as BestCrypt, how well does it support Linux?  The website seems to be geared toward Windoze.
