Title: Qtopia 2.1.1 Syncing With Linux
Post by: sirmaxworld on October 13, 2005, 11:09:42 pm
Hi all,

I use gentoo with qtopia desktop 1.7 (emerged qtopia-1.7-bin)
qtopia-desktop is at default config: usb: 192.168.129.201
have usbnet module loaded and usb setup:

ifconfig usb0 192.168.129.200 netmask 255.255.255.255 up
route add -host 192.168.129.201 usb0

and can ping my zaurus under 192.168.129.201

have qtopia 2.1.1 on my zaurus and qtopia-desktop is not able to sync with my zaurus.

had the sharp rom 2.38 before and it wasn't able to sync, too.

any sugestoins?

You can't sync with Qtopia desktop on linux and the newer model zaurus, Sharp uses dtm for the PIM data and the only version of Qtopia desktop that understands this is on the CD that comes with the zaurus (and it's only for windows )

thanks for the answer,

I found a way to sync with linux.
I installed openzaurus with opie. (oz 3.5.3 opie 1.2)
there I can choose in opie under settings- security- sync
with which prog. I wanna syc. I chose qtopia 1.7 because it's also available for linux and it works fine.
just the task manager doesn't work well.
there is a bug either in qtopia or in openzaurus.
you can't edit a task in qtopia 1.7 with a summary and a note and sync it to your zaurus.
but the rest is working good so far
