Title: Intel's Ruby Handheld

"8 hours of battery life, built-in wireless, a QWERTY keyboard, a low-voltage Pentium processor, the ability to automatically change screen orientation when you rotate the device (not sure how well that’d work in practice, but it’s an interesting prospect), and an active digitizer display so you can run Windows XP Tablet PC Edition on it (or whatever the Vista equivalent will be). They’re also thinking about developing a stripped down Linux-based OS to run on Ruby, but it wasn’t clear how far along they might be on that."

Nice.  I like Linux, but it's hard to ignore the ubiquity of programs available for Windows XP.  If it's running a Pentium, everything will be compatible out of the box.

Looks like an OQO with a keyboard.  It'll probably cost too much.

- Nice.  I hate Winbloze, so it's hard to ignore the ubiquity of Linux distro available for Pentium machines.  (wolfish grin)
- I'm not hot on that "keyboard", though.  Gak!  And no specs.  Unfortunate, but if it's running Ex-pee it's probably got a pretty impressive resource list, so Linux should just fly.
- Touch large, though no dimensions are given so one has to guess.  Darned prototypes ... where's the *data*??  (snicker)
- Thanks for the link, speculatrix...
