Title: Screen Rotation Problem [ Fixed ]
Post by: markpmc on October 29, 2005, 02:23:57 pm
1. I think this is a setting issue.
2. No programs are running. I'm talking about the launch/menu here.
3. Rebooting doesn't fix the rotation issue .
4. see my sig for ROM info.

The last program I ran was kino2. It crashed while playiing video in landscape mode.

Now my 3K works fine in portrait mode, but if I rotate the screen to use the keyboard/landscape mode. Only the bottom 80% of my screen rotates to landscape and even then it's upside down.

I can post a pic of my issue, but I'm betting that someone here already has the answer.

TIA

i know it dosent sound like fun or that it wont work but have you tried reflashing and building the thing up from scratch again?

I'm trying to avoid a rebuild. I'll wait a few more days, maybe an answer will present itself. If not then I guess I get to figure out which KO/PI and KA/PI files I need to backup.

Hi Markpmc,
I was in exactly the same position with my SL-C3100 this morning after running Kino2, but thankfully found a solution on this forum.

Scroll down to the answer provided by Curiosity (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14034&hl=)

I don't have a back-up and was getting more than a bit frantic as it looked like it was a total restore.  I just followed Curiosity's suggestion edited the qpe.conf file and was back to normal.  I have a copy of the conf file now so if it happens again I can just replace it.

Hope it works for you.
Regards,
Marcus

Wish I'd stumbled onto this before I reflashed
It's nice to know that it is a setting that I can fix myself next time.

Thanks,
