Title: Usb Mouse In Cacko 1.23
Post by: wmadan on November 01, 2005, 10:23:04 am
Does the new Cacko ROM support USB host capability (mouse, keyboard) out of the box in both the full and lite versions?

When booting up, I see the mouse "+" sign, but when I plug in my USB mouse, it doesn't work. Is there a script to run or anything else I must do to enable my mouse?

Please, read my posts carefully. If you use Lite verison you need to install appropriate kernel modules to support USB devices.

I plan on trying this, but haven't gotten a moment to yet so I'll just ask.  Do both mouse buttons work?  I'm curious if an application like qtrdesktop would allow right clicking.  If so I'd be very happy.

Update:  The mouse works great.  Scrolling does work in rdesktop, but not right click.  Now to figure out how to do so.

Anton,

Sorry to prompt you to reply on this. I did read the information on the "Lite" version in the Sharp ROM forum you posted, but did not read far enough. In the "Kernel" section, you wrote: "- Included updated USB storage and serial drivers from 2.4.31 kernel" and I took that for USB mouse support working out of the box. My bad.

Now that I know I need to load a module from the feed, can you confirm the correct module to load is usb-serial-modules-2.4.20_1.23-lite-1_arm.ipk?

To anyone using a mouse with the new Cacko ROM?  Have you been able to get both mouse buttons to work in all applications?  I can't use right-click in qtrdesktop.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have not tried "all" applications, but those I have tried work well with both mouse buttons...

Thanks for the reply.  I know no one can try every application.  Just hoping someone may have found a solution.
