Title: 860 vs. 760 feature: act as USB card reader: 860 only?
Post by: darkeye on February 09, 2004, 05:09:17 am
I\'m reading about the differences between mode 760 and 860, and one of them seem to be that the 860 can act as a card reader, while the 760 can not. E.g. description for 860 (http://www.shirtpocket.co.uk/cat/product_info.php/cPath/21_24/products_id/85) inlcudes the following:

Quote
Drive feature allowing your unit to act as a simple CF/SD Card read writer (connect to other PCs via USB and swap files etc. without having to install sync. software)

while description for 760 (http://www.shirtpocket.co.uk/cat/product_info.php/cPath/21_24/products_id/28) does not.

But I wonder if this can not be achieved with a 760, as the difference seems to be software-only...

Yes, the C760 can also be used as a card reader.

Try searching for \"usb storage\".

If nothing else, the tkcrom has the usb storage support for c7xx models built in.

OK, I found it in this thread:

USB mass storage device (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=495&highlight=mass+storage)

Sorry for opening up a new thread for this issue. This could be included among the FAQs though...
