Definition of a brick: To "brick" a Zaurus means that the unit had to be sent to Sharp for servicing. If you reflash or restore and the Zaurus is better, you did not "brick" it (Definition from http://zaurus.spy.org/zinfo.html#GLOSSARY (http://zaurus.spy.org/zinfo.html#GLOSSARY))
I have loved my 3 months with my eBay purchased C3000. Now it is a beautiful, glossy white brick. No, I can't re-flash it. The service menu comes up when I power up, but it doesn't respond to anything I do.
There is hope! When searching for a place to sent my brick for servicing, I found this page: http://pocketworkstation.org/files/recover...ash-recover.txt (http://pocketworkstation.org/files/recover/README-flash-recover.txt)
It explains how to flash the un-flashable. But it says to only use device specific files as the wrong version will mess things up even worse. BUT I can't find any files for devices newer than the 860.
Do you know where I can get correct C3000 de-bricking files? If not, do you know where I can send my brick for repairs?

so no response from the D+M/insert battery method? maint Menu, or is that the service menu, i tend to forget. usually if you didnt screw up the bootloader then a flash restore(or whatever its referred to on the 3000) will do the trick9at least it should) If its still powering on and no smoke appears, there is hope

You need to get someone to make a NAND backup for you I think.
IMO it would be worthwhile copying all of the above files + the NAND backups for the newer devices and storing them on oesf.org too (or at least linking to them from the HowTo/FAQ).

Hi all,
You need to get someone to make a NAND backup for you I think.

or you may simply use this NAND-Backup:

I'm still reading and learning. The boot menu comes up, not the service menu (this normally comes up only when pressing ok+on, but I get this screen regardless).
I haven't tried the D+M thing yet. I guess that gives me the service menu. I suppose that is where I can use the NAND backup that Trisoft posted - Thanks everyone. I'll do some more reading on the service menus and see if I can breath life into this thing again.
