Title: Irda Works Once; Then Have To Reboot
Post by: dmmmd on November 18, 2005, 06:32:26 pm
I have a Zaurus 6000L as follows:

12936KB of free Internal Flash
ROM version 1.12
Linux Kernel version 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix
Qutopia for OpenPDA version 1.5.4

I have never had a need to use the infrared port to send files, but I recently aquired a Nokia 6255i mobile phone with infrared capabilities.

Much to my surprise, I was able to send a JPEG file from my Zaurus to the phone. On a second attempt the Zaurus said it was sending a file, but the phone gave up trying to connect.

I restarted the Zaurus, and I was again able to send one file whether it be a vCard or an image or sound file. After that, I am unable to connect.

The reverse is true as well. I can send a vCard from the phone one time after a reboot. The Zaurus receives it no problem. Then I have to reboot the Zaurus to get it to receive or send files again.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you.

Dmmmd,

Have you "turned off" IRK when you are sending files. IRK (the driver that one uses with the Pocketop IR keyboard) and sending IR files are not compatible. I haven't done much IR transfers with my SL-6000, but I did a few with my old 5500, and I didn't have this problem.

I hope this helps,

Craig...
