Title: Landscape Design
Post by: Ferret-Simpson on November 18, 2005, 07:07:32 pm
yes, that's right, DETERMINED to find one you lot can help me on.

My Z5600, as some may know, is my testing platform for all sorts of Zaurus software, from which I'm building (on my SD card) a compendium of packages that ACTUALLY work.

My favourite pair is that which rotates the Sharp Rom's Qtopia desktop from portrait to landscape. With the practised ability from my home computers to type at a 90 degree angle, I find this mode highly useable, although it's pretty slow for use when Snes9xing. (Note, later than FF5 tends to be a bit too jerky to play. FF4, FF5 are ok to play. this is Unclocked PXA250.)  The only bugger is, that although Qtopia programs, and Hancom programs work better landscape than portrait, Sharps own software just gives up and runs off the screen. The real cack-up is the Settings menus, and the PIN code entry window. The Pin code function works in landscape, but the Ok and 0 buttons are a millimetre tall and shoot off the edge of the screen. Anyone made or seen any replacement config program packages, or a replacement logon window, that works Landscape aswell as portrait?

And I still want to know how to get a ZR-5000 connected to a wifi network. . .Although It's more likely to join a null modem cable in my pocket as an eternally-handy serial terminal. Because I haven't got an Apple Classic II (see geektechnique.org for the joke) Maybe now I can get my SGI indy working?
