Title: Cacko Rom 1.23 - Wifi Issues
Post by: abm_y4k on November 24, 2005, 02:03:33 am
Whatsup with the wifi in Cacko?

I am using the C3100 model.

I have three prism2 based cards:

-WCF11 (modded with external antenna)
-WCF12 (flushed to newest prism2 firmware)
-DCF-660W (original)

they works fine in OZ, but after flushed back to cacko none of them works.

Please help.

hello.

you may need to upgrade to a newer version of wlan-ng.  wlan-ng pre26 for the zaurus is floating around somewhere.  use google.  i had a link to it but it is lost to me now.

I am using the hostap driver not wlan-ng.

I am trying to port OZ's drivers over Cacko and see if it work or not.

abm_y4k I'm too but the kernel freeze when load the hostap's modules :S grr
If I re-compiled the kernel freeze equal I do something! grr...
I'll use the CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe" that's right?

See you!

I am not planning to recompile the kernel again because I remember I did few months ago recompiled the 2.4.20 kernel with hostap 0.3.9 for SharpROM and the kernel crash like you did.

I ported the OZ's hostap driver over (v0.3.9) and it still give me the same errror.

give the CFLAGS a try, let me know if its work or not.

Thanks,

I use the WCF12 on a C860 with no problems, worked 'out of box'.  So maybe the problem is device specific.

Hi,

the DCF-660W works fine on my C1000 even with WPA
It get recognize directly after insert the card.

Can you post the output of dmesg directly after insert the card

It should work with Cacko 1.23 and the C3100

My Wifi Card is NEC infrontia CFE-02
http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/pc/docs/art...0011010/nec.htm (http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/pc/docs/article/20011010/nec.htm)

I plug it into the socket, about 4 second late,it went out.

I click the System info,it display:

product info:"NEC infrontia","CFE-02"
manfid:0X0288,0X0201
function:2(serial)
Vcc 0.0V Vpp1 0.0V Vpp2 0.0V
3.3 16-bit PC Card[suspended]

Anyone knows about the NEC infrontia CF WIFI?
How it can work on my Zaurus C1000(Cacko 1.23 Full Version)?

This is not a WiFi card. I have no idea how to make it work under Zaurus...

How did you do it?

I get a Vcc Mismatch (in dmesg) when I insert mine. (Mine also works under OZ but not in Cacko)

A quick note on this:
I have been messing around with this all day and the following got the card to work: Trying to fix the "Vcc mismatch" problem,  I added this line to my /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf file:
   module "hostap_cs" opts "ignore_cis_vcc=1"
and restarted pcmcia as mentioned above.

BEWARE: This added an amazing amount of error like messages to dmesg and - The first time I inserted the card after this change It connected as configured but the zaurus UI seemed to freeze up. I pulled the card and the zaurus returned to normal. I reinserted the card and now it is working great.
