from Chase and Company. There was a "mixup" at the Tokyo postal service...just my luck.
Am charging it now....the fun will begin soon. My husband just can't understand my techie obsessions.
Looks like no ZHost USB host cable came with it?? Where do I get one? USA??

My C1 from Ch&Co, left SFO and is on its way to me now... my husband understands MY love of tech but does not like it himself ;=(
So is it as wonderful as you thought or hoped?
-
It's pretty nice. A lot of the applications have squares instead of letters so it's hard to figure them out. I guess I need to install some fonts?
I got my Belkin wireless card working and email set up, but I HATE NetFront...the font is too light and hard to read on the Yahoo site, for instance. I'll have to install Opera very soon.
So far I'm thinking it's pretty much like my SL-5500.
I'm wondering if I should just install the Cacko Rom right away before I invest too much time in it OR be sure everything works with the original ROM first.
What can I do about all the little squares???

Thanks, I'll check that out.

I am thinking of installing Cacko as soon as I get mine, I have done a bit of reading of posts over the weekend and it seems like a good idea to me - but I don't know linux so I will have to get some help (a friend at work said he would advise and based on my experience possibly get a C1 for himself).
What did you do about the powersupply - did you have to change the wall plug end or did you have an adapter?
-
The adapter which came with mine works in the US. It's 100 volts?? Label says it's EA-72. It's very tiny and seems to work fine.
Still looking for a Zhost usb cable. Could not find one at the iriver web site unless it's the 5' one which is out of stock at the moment. I wanted a short and stubby Zhost.

You should seriously look at getting an EA-70 charger. Search the forums for why. I would not recommend using the 72 charger. It is not rated properly for the US. It has caused many problems for people. Just thought i would let you know.

Seeing that Tombraider has two 5500, she probably has a EA-70 or two already.

it is more apropriate to use the sl5500 charger. i have 3 of them.

You can use a Sony PSP adapter. Works great.
To find the usb host cable: try this: [a href=\"https://secure7.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=iriver&BusType=BtoC&Count1=3704249&Count2=920844674&CategoryID=4&Target=products.asp]https://secure7.nexternal.com/shared/StoreF...et=products.asp[/url]
If the link does not work go to iriveramerica.com and select products -> accessories. Then scroll down and you should find it...
It is called "PMP USB Host Adapter Cable " and is $4.99 + shipping....

When I got home last night, my zaurii was waiting for me \0/
Charged it, and it is now up and running.
Per your Zhost cable, I have a 6 pack of usb adapters and there is a micro/host adapter in there (and it is smaller than another cable too) It is made by GE and my husband found it at Sams Club (it is on their website, just search).

Thanks, GadgetGuy! With that explicit info, I was able to order one. Didn't know it was called "PMP USB Host Adapter Cable".
Too bad the shipping was $10, because that's a good price

Great! Have fun with your new "toy"..
I, too, had one of those "sacks" of US connectors from WalMart, but, unfortunately, it didn't have the "zhost" type connector in it.
