Title: Podcasting With Zaurus !
Post by: jpmatrix on December 21, 2005, 05:32:54 am
hi there,

i've just found a japanese podcasting software for the Zaurus there :

http://hake.syuriken.jp/kerolog/index.html (http://hake.syuriken.jp/kerolog/index.html)

i had some trouble to make it work as it seems it doesn't like some of my podcast url!

just download it, then create kerolist.txt file in /home/zaurus/Documents/
like the one given on the website, with your own urls
then launch and listen !

ps: i also had to install rbuconv package found here:

I have to second the Corsair tool.  That and Kino work great on my 6000.

I had a look at Keroplayer and it's fantastic. I was looking for a great standalone podcast aggregator/player, and because I've got dmBlogger already installed, I didn't have to install the extra Ruby files (or mplayer for that matter).

Only problem is: it's in Japanese. So I translated it into serviceable English.

Hope this helps.

HOW TO INSTALL

Replace the "keroplayer.rb" file on your Z -- in /QtPalmtop/bin/ depending on which media (SD, Internal Flash) you installed it -- with this one.

Keep in mind that this is only a rough translation working backwards from the Ruby commands and a lot of trial and error. I know no Japanese.

[EDIT: I've been doing more work on the translated GUI and it's shaping up nicely, so I started a new Keroplayer thread (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=27&t=16727&st=0#entry108060) in the more general Software forums and have posted the English GUI file (with instructions and replacement icons) there. Thanks.]
