Post by: web-angel on December 26, 2005, 12:05:33 pm
Hi !
I have installed tiemu, the only calculator that can remplace ... my ti92+ ...

but when I load a ROM it make this error :

'unable to open this file : ti92.skn
could not set video mode: invalid with or height
initialized in gtk+ mode
fatal signal : segmentation fault (sdl parachute deployed)'

the skin file is from the tiemu official package ... anyone (I think there is not many users) use the software ?

I built a newer version of TiEMU a few months back, which seems to work well except for being a bit slow. You can download it here (http://dylanpowell.net/zaurus/files/tiemu3_3.0.0_armv5tel.ipk). I can't remember if I fixed the skin problem I was having in the .ipk, if you get an error about ipaq_ti92.skn, it's because the file is mistakenly named ipaqti92.skn and needs renamed to fix it (it could be the other way around; I don't remember exactly).

If you don't want to go through all that- the problem you may be having is that the original TI92 skin file is larger than the 640x480 screen, and it sounds like it's getting mad about that. If you can find the ipaq version of the skin file, it should work better as it has been reduced in size to fit a PDA's screen.

it may be named ipaqti92.skn, I can't remember. The package is 10mb because it includes all of the necessary libraries, which may or may not already be installed on your zaurus. I never really took the time to take them out and make them dependencies instead.
