Hi

Discovered some great  -free mac software.

Mac the Ripper and Handbrake

these make a great job of ripping dvds and reencoding to play on my kids ipods-also play great

on my Z 860.

I blogged (http://charlatan.blogspot.com/2005/10/my-own-ipod-killer.html) about this a few months ago.

I'd be curious to know what settings you're using. Anything like mine (lots of trial and error)?

I've had really mixed results with Quicktime exports and FFmpegX (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/8988) conversions. The Handbrake (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12987) developer says he's going to be adding a 90° rotation option in the 0.8 or 0.9 release -- is there any software that allows for this now?
