Post by: tovarish on January 07, 2006, 06:33:31 am
there is an xqt feed on pdaxroms website.
http://www.pdaxrom.org/index.php?showid=8&menuid=11 (http://www.pdaxrom.org/index.php?showid=8&menuid=11)
http://mail.pdaxrom.org/1.1.0beta1/XQt/feed/ (http://mail.pdaxrom.org/1.1.0beta1/XQt/feed/)

has anyone tried to run these apps on Xqt with the sharp or cacko rom. I am particularly interested in gaim, abiword and gnumeric.

i have gotten abiword to run also.  you just have to chase all of the dependencies down from the xqt/pdax feed.  thunderbird, gaim, and xchat that i tried from the xqt/pdax feed all have xfree as a dependency.  when installing xfee you get an error about running out of space on /usr.  but these apps are all available through meanies cramfs images.  in some instances you have to remount / as rw with the mount -o remount,rw / command when installing several libs.  no biggie.  good work on the pdax team on compiling the pdax apps for xqt.  they are all capable of installing fine its just a matter of chasing dependancies, mounting / as rw and making symlinks on the HD to free space on the smaller partitions.  good luck.
