As a CJK user, pim/pi is a less than perfect solution as it does not work with scim.
I am actively looking for GTK2 applications to replace it. However, I can't find any good apps on the Ineternet. Anyone have suggestions?
I already found a GTK2 password manage and it works fine. I need address book and organiser. I will post all of them together after I compiled them. Now, I need your suggestions. Thanks.

What I do is open Abiword, type the stuff I need into it, then copy & paste (yes I know it's sad, but it works ).

Yes, I know this too but it is not the way to go.
Wouldn't it be better to port skim instead?
Not really a good idea. Skim requires a patch to Qt3 or require us to upgrade to Qt4. It is not easy.

Evolution depends on many many packages and these packages has dependencies on others. I don't want to go this way. I also worried about the performance of Evulation in Zaururs.
Anyone has suggestions on address book and organiser?

I have to say that it is good but I am not able to do this. I only want to spend time to do what (I think) I can do.

Haha. Hope the dev team would do something about the qt im stuff.
So far I've found jpilot, a clone of palm desktop in Linux, one of the best candidates. It is pretty fast and GTK2 based. You don't need a palm os device to use it (though I'm planning to use my Abacus Wrist PDA with it). It's also an all-in-one PIM suite, with datebook, address, todo, memo, expense (for simple finance) and keyring (for encrypted material). The data can be exported too .txt, .ical, .csv, etc. The only drawback in the GTK2 compiled version is the window and widget sizes. Some of the screens persist in opening wider than than 640x480, even if they're maximized. (Maybe someone can recomplied it with nicer setup. But I am not able to figure it out) And also jpilot doesn't have as many eye candies as found in the KDEpim thing. Otherwise it's a good app. I've heard many people just use palm desktop without palm devices and use it as the main PIM program on PCs.

It supports gtk-inputmethods, so if it works with gnome/xfce (or any gtk app) on your desktop it will work with gpe pim

Planner is available in the feed.
But I'm afraid to say that planner is not a calendar app (coz I'm using it). It's a project planner and tracker.
Now taking a look at some new apps (not compiled yet) and see if they fit...

I compiled GTK2 password manager: gpass
You need to install libmcypt, libmhash and gpass ipks

It's written in Python and Gtk and doesn't need to be compiled. Just edit the first line in winzig.py and change 'python2' to 'python2.4', and execute it directly. Have tested briefly and I can use gcin and scim to enter Chinese there.

Winzig is very lightweight itself, although it requires the python package, which is kinda big...

They are for OpenZaurus, so they works for it. Will them work for pdaX.. probably not due to glibc 2.3.5 but you can check.
Dependencies.. we have them autogenerated to know that 'ipkg install something' will install everything needed to run that something.
